Horus Ascended is the best HQ choice in the GAME! He’s not the most versatile Primarch, but he’s got some really cool abilities that make him stand out on the battlefield. Here are some of my favorite things about this guy:
Admittedly, this guy looks great on the table.
If you’re a new player and want to make an army themed around Horus, there are tons of ways you can do that. For example, if you’re looking for a more traditional look for him (or just something easy), then picking up the Horus Heresy: Age of Darkness boxed set will give you a great basis for any army you want to run.
If customization isn’t really your thing but still want to have fun with this guy on the tabletop, then there’s always upgrading his weapons! Some players prefer giving him the Talon of Horus or Sword Impulse over using his default weapons–the Spear Final Strike and Staff Solar Pulse respectively–which are both excellent choices since they allow Horus to attack from range as well as melee range!
He’s got a super cool model and an awesome command ability.
Horus has a great model (maybe the best?). The model has lots of detail, clean crisp casting and is chunkier than its predecessor. You would experience anywhere near as many breaks with this model as you did the last.

Horus is the best all-round Primarch and will kill your puny Primarch.
Horus can slay anything. And the Ascended form means he can do so without breaking a sweat. We hope to see other forms of Praimrchs in the future (Sanguinius Ascended please!)
Horus is a great Primarch. Horus Ascended is a beast without comparison. If you’re looking for something different than your normal Marine army list or want something that will really make your opponent sweat when they see it coming, then I’d say this guy might be worth giving a try!
