Welcome to PAINTING LEGIONS – Army Painting 101.

View that pile of shame as a pile of opportunity. You have the skills. You have the equipment. You’ve watched every tutorial on Patreon and you’ve asked all the pros how they do it. SO WHY DO YOU HAVE SO MUCH STUFF TO PAINT!

Welcome to the Army Painting Master Class by Lil’ Legend Studio. Alex will be showing students a range of new techniques and skills you can implement in any army painting you do going forward.

This is a two-day Master Class in English, taking place on Feb 3rd and 4th at the Abyss!

This course aims to:

  • Create Structure. Clarify your workflow to paint armies, not models.
  • Airbrush like a pro. We’ll teach you how to use, clean, maintain, and get the most out of your airbrush. Never have a dry tip again.
  • Learn how to pre-shade and apply colour. The fundamentals of our method, learn the importance of paint modulation and light application.
  • Learn how to apply decals. This is a skill, and an art. we’ll teach you how to apply them.
  • Simple Weathering. The hallmark of heresy modeling, we’ll introduce you to simple weathering techniques that can be enjoyed throughout your modeling life.

GET YOUR ARMIES PAINTED!

Places are strictly first come first serve and are limited to 15 spaces. A waiting list is available for sold-out classes.

If you have any questions about the equipment list or would like to purchase brushes, please contact us directly.

*******

For this course, you will need a few models that will need to be built and primed black beforehand (even if it’s an Imperial FIST!). Below are the models we would recommend for this course:

Forge World or Games Workshop Rhino tank.
– 2 Mk IV/V/VI Space Marines or 2 Primaris Space Marines, or 2 Tartaros Terminators, or 2 Cataphractii Terminators (if you can’t decide, bring them all!)
– The appropriate transfer sheet for your legion or army.
‘Tools of the Trade!’ — Basic Equipment
– Airbrush, compressor, airbrush spray booth, airbrush cleaning pot, airbrush thinner, airbrush cleaner, water bottle, hobby lamp, kitchen towel, lint free rag, hairdryer and extension lead.
– A selection of new and old paintbrushes, wet palette, fan brush, dry brushes (Rosemary and Co. Smooshing Brushes) or make up brushes, angular brushes (Rosemary and Co. preferred). We would really recommend bringing along one or two brushes that can be for any liquid mask you may use. These brushes will be destroyed after using the liquid mask so get cheap ones!
– Sponge from Forge World packs, blue-tac and a selection of corks.
Microset and Microsol.

We realize that’s a lot of stuff! And you may forget some of it. Never fear, we will have supplies on hand to fill in any gaps.

Food and drinks are available on-site. No outside food or drinks are allowed. Thank you for your understanding.
