‘Faces and bases – a lot can be forgiven in between.’

As miniature artists our choice of canvas is largely chosen for us – you buy a miniature with a screaming face, you’re going to paint a miniature with a screaming face! But, we can choose how to characterise the lines of our faces, softening creases, empahsising others, to turn plastic into a character.
This one-day course is designed to take your through fundamentals of painting skin, faces and how to create characterisaion through our choice of brush stroke. Transform those bare heads into mini characters and enjoy painting the squishy, fleshy parts of your models again. Get rid of the fear and enjoy miniature painting.

This is a 1-day course designed for beginner to intermediate miniature painters.
Students will have a miniature and workbook provided for them on the day.
* We do have a limited availability of all of the above. Please contact us beforehand if you cannot bring any, or would like to try them out before purchase. If you turn up with nothing else but the shoes on your feet, you will still be able to participate in the class. Heads will be provided by us on the day.
If you’d like to stay overnight there is a hotel very close to the studio (you can throw a rock at my window from your room – it’s that close!)
If you are a Patreon member you can claim a further 5% discount on all course tickets. This will be reimbursed to you on the day of the event(s).
