Required Equipment for the Ultramarine Painting Course with Matthew Kane
To get the most out of this course, you’ll need the following equipment to follow along with the lessons and ensure your Ultramarines look amazing.
Miniature:
- Standard MK3 Space Marine: Make sure you have one built and primed, but leave the bolter off for ease of painting.
Brushes:
- A range of high-quality fine detail brushes (sizes: 000, 0, 1)
- A drybrush for weathering and texture techniques
- Larger basecoat brush (size 2 or 3)
Palette:
- Wet palette (recommended) to keep paints fresh and usable for longer
Priming:
- Spray primer (Black recommended for this course)
Paints:
- Refer to the course PDF for the full list of paints needed. The PDF will provide you with the exact paint colors and types used for Ultramarine blue, gold, and additional detailing techniques.
- Airbrush and compressor: For those looking to prime or apply basecoats quickly
