Dark Apostle of the Black Legion
Primogenitor geneseed: Word Bearers (unverified)

Unsanctified Crozius ‘Hollow Child’
Possessed of an original first edition page of ‘Lorgars Last Temptation.’ Fragment from the 16th testament of the book of Lorgar.
Son of an astartes chapter, one turned renegade, or brought to the truth by wearying experience, Umbra’s past is not well known amongst the Black Legion. What is known is that he is not a veteran of the long war, having been created after the events of the scouring. He retains the trappings of his former station of a chaplain, for reasons known only to himself.
Iscarion’s first recorded appearance is tied to the brutal eradication of The Flayed Choir, an Emperor’s Children warband that had been at war with The Burning Canticle of the Word Bearer Legion. The Burning Canticle liberated many enslaved legionnaires, including the few remaining Sons of Selenar of the Sons of Horus. Although not leading the force, Iscarion’s influence would steadily grow alongside Xviš, later renouncing the holy crimson and aligning himself with the Black Legion and the ideals of Abaddon the Despoiler.
Within the Black Legion, Iscarion’s role is one of councilor, of conciliator and diplomat between the many god sworn elements of the Scions of Selenar. Iscarion is also responsible for summoning the hosts of the warp into real space when the legion makes war. Unlike the fanatic apostles of the XVII, his creed does not espouse the domination of faith but rather the supremacy of will. In this, his beliefs are more aligned with the philosophies of the Black Legion and the will of Ezekyle Abaddon. Whether he is a remnant of the Long War, a defector from the Word Bearers, or something altogether more insidious, Iscarion remains an enigma—one who walks the path of the Dark Gods, yet does so with the cold deliberation of an executioner.

This chaplain conversion was based on the iconic Word Bearer Art by Karl Kopinski. The entire Black Legion project feels like a homage to all the best pieces of art I loved growing up. The part list for the conversion is:
- Head – Forge World Night Lords upgrade pack.
- Body – Forges of Zeon 3d print
- Arms – 3d print & Chaos Marine Veteran upgrade pack.
- Legs – Praetor Tribune
- Scrolls – various – I found them in by bits box.
- Cursed Crozius – Dark Vengence boxed set.
