Legio Atarus (Firebrands) Reaver Titan commission showcase.
Titanicus scale modeling is an itch that needs to be scratched. It’s a different discipline to 32MM modeling and bust scale. It demands a different set of principles that can be daunting.
One principle I adhere to is to keep the colors muted. Why? Perspective.
I can’t claim credit for this one – Ed, our gaming group’s Renaissance man noted that when you view shipping tankers at sea, they seem duller to the naked eye. There is a huge gulf of air between the viewer and the subject, which will naturally distort the colours. We do not peak the highlights with anywhere as much vigor as smaller-scale pieces like space marines.
The Legio Atarus Reaver Titan kit is a wonderful mix of cool beige and warm reds. It’s a phenomenal kit that can be styled in so many different ways. I just wish we had a decal sheet for them! The base comes from the majestic Unreal Wargaming Bases.
This titan was filmed from start to finish and will be made into a tutorial in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled on the Tutorials section of the website and our Youtube channel . Incidentally, this tutorial would make an excellent scheme for a Blood Raven army. You may, or may not be seeing more of them in the year.
Happy 2022!
