Amongst the ranks of the Importal Ninth Raldoron is one of the most legendary heroes of the chapter. Known as the Archien of Wisdom, Raldoron expressed Sanguinius’ genius at warfare.
The first thing that catches the eye when looking at this miniature is the bright orange red color palette. The armor of Raldoron is painted in a deep, rich shade of red, with highlights of bright orange to create a sense of depth and texture. The orange highlights serve to bring out the details of the armor and make it pop against the darker shades.
But this is not a miniature meant to be admired for its beauty alone. The grim dark style of painting is apparent in the weathering and battle damage on the armor. The edges are chipped and worn, as if Raldoron has seen many battles and has not emerged unscathed.
The base has been painted as if it were a barren wasteland, with cracked earth and skulls strewn about. The sense of desolation and death is palpable, and it serves as a fitting backdrop for a hero such as Raldoron. The miniature is mounted on a clear acrylic rod, giving the impression that he is soaring above the battlefield. It is a dynamic pose that captures the sense of motion and action that is inherent in the Blood Angels.
